Technical water pump

hello everyone

i am rebuilding a punto 75 1242 engine and want to replace the waterpump. the water pump in the 1242 is the one with the metal inners with 6 fins. i do have a spare water pump but it the one with plastic fins i think this is from a seicento can i use this water pump?

should be ok providing the teeth on the drive wheel are the same/and its the same size, I think new pumps come with the plastic impeller

punto 75 has the same pump and belt as the 1.1 so its all good.

Do check -- at least 2 different pitches were used. If the belt doesn't mesh with the water pump pulley (try before fitting, it should be obvious) the belt will last for about 3 minutes.

yeh defiantly check. altho if its not obvious when you fit the belt, it will be when you start the car as i imagine it would make a right noise!
