We have the white TwinAir Plus that comes with the all black 16" alloys

our 500 front 3-4.jpg

Looks OK but the all black wheel and tyre is a bit "bland"

So taking a leaf out of the Rockstar's book
Painted the outer rim of the hubcap red

Took a while to mask up and then paint with red and COB 2 pack
But happy with the result

So I guess it is now a " TwinAir Plus Rockstar" LOL

Ypu could have just bought the normal wheel centres with a red rim, I've got a set completely unused waiting to go on one day :)

Hate to think what they 'd charge for them here in Oz -

OTOH I already had the paint - GMH HSV "Sting" red and left over 2 pack clear from the days when I had a contracting job - they went belly up in the GFC

so only really cost me time - transformed the look of the car
Will take some pics tomorrow outside in the sun

Looks great! I used a set of these to highlight the wheels a bit...ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1377359951.318887.jpg

Thinking of painting the calipers as well:idea:
Is there any protocol as to colour ?

Yellow comes to mind or red like the hubcap rings

Unless you have rear discs, painting the callipers a bright colour tends to highlight that there are only discs up front.

Please don't paint the rear callipers, it looks terrible when people do that :p

Does that really matter ?

The TA badge on the back advises that there are only drums on the back
(for those that know)

...Maybe paint the drums red/yellow too ??

Just looks weird to me when calipers are painted in a bright colour up front when a car has drums on the rear.
Just a matter of individual taste I guess.

Outside pics - took a but longer than I thought

Here are the factory ones you get :) Might have a puncture on one of my winter tyres so my summers might go on and get these :)

Of course after painting mine I'm not going to say that they look bad
But - IMHO the change that the small splash of colour makes is quite dramatic
Vast improvement...(y)

Out of interest how did come to have a set lying around ??

Someone on here was selling an unused set so I bought them.

This is actually the 4th set I have, I have the set which originally came with the car, but those wheel centres are very poor quality and the black paint comes off really easily, I have another 2 sets I bought from ebay, which are an improved part and the paint stays on bette.

You're lucky in that the 500 is a popular car
Here they are still orphans
Got ours in June this year and still haven't seen another one yet

None at the wreckers - sorry - car recyclers - must be PC

So any purchase is from OS and freight sometimes is as much as what ever it is you are buying

I had a set of Abarth ones and put matt black vinyl on the chrome and then gloss black where the scorpion was.
