Multipla The Toad.

Introduction

So after owning all sorts of stuff from Buicks to Polos I've finally lost the plot and purchased a "bug eye" Multipla. It's a 110 JTD ELX with only 35k miles but it's a bit (err very) rough around the edges. The colour is horrid, actually I've always hated all Multiplas so it was an interesting choice. Anyway I presume you're not after my life story.

For me this is a second car so it's not about performance (obviously), it's about comfort and practicality. We'll see how long that lasts. I am very tempted to slam it, which wouldn't be comfy or practical at all. But it would look sooo right. I think it will eventually end up on airbags, I dont think I could ever go back to creeping over speedbumps after the amount of fun I've had this week.

Anyway, I've not done much to it yet and I've not got much money so it's a work in progress.

Here is a chop I did of the for sale pic to whet your appetite:

So sadly the missus has peed on the bonfire and insists she would rather go for black and not grey. So we've not even started yet and the plans are already out of the window!

Day 1:

Love this car already. Double electric sunroof, really comfy, good on fuel, should have done this ages ago.

Added some stickers and copious amounts of airfresheners (some kid has puked in the back), also added some handcuffs hanging from the rear bumper and hammered the hell out of some of the dents.

Aww yeah, stickers. Now I'm cool.

Day 2:

Which after a bit of cheeky 5-up speedbump action at high speeds lasted around 3 days... :D

Must say I like it much more now that it's broken, much more character.

Then after about 5 days some more parts started showing up

Bosch flatblade wipers (yaaay I can seeeee)

K&N filter (again only because the old one was cack)

Floor mats (already sporting a chunk of poo)

O HAI

Think that's it for now, more to come.
Re: Sold

hahaha, I dont think he is, but I have sent him a link to this.

Like I said, i will get pictures of it as it develops and when I do I'll post them in here as an update. I have no doubt it will look amazing (and different to now) when he gets his hands on it. He has a back-catalogue of cool cars ;) Although I cannot guarantee it will not get fragged when the tax runs out! It's pretty rough round the edges!

Anyway, I'm off to look at more cars

Re: Sold

What have you got in mind?

Test drove a Panda 100HP today, loved it but it's a bit smaller inside than I'm used to! Upwards of 3 grand too!

Also looking at Alfa 147/156s, various engines as long as it's got leather ;)

BUT those are both (expensive modern) choices forced upon me by Mrs. EmDee

If it was just up to me I'd have bought an Alfa 155 or a Fiat Tipo, I've seen a really tidy one of each for less than £500 with 60-80 k miles on

You after another fun project or a serious runabout?

Tipo for project (y)

Oh I don't know. 2 x 3yr olds, all their crap and enough room for a monthly shop. I love mine. So much more enjoyable to drive than the multipla

tbf when i was younger my mum drove a nissan 200sx s13 and we used that for big family trips and stuff, some of them jap coupes have enormous boots. And the tiny seats are fine for little'uns - just got a bit of a squeeze when trying to move 4 adults but again still doable. Couldn't comment on celica but they similar car in size and shape.

Thanks Duncan

The Multipla now looks like this:

Apparently it's about 17 times brighter in the flesh!

And the Alfa is sporting the gold Zenders from the Toad and some spacers. At the moment it is getting a Proper install with a 12" sub, some 6x9s and a rockford Punch amp. Later today, my snow tyres for the 155 will be turning up and will go on the standard wheels, I think I'll do them black?

As I get more pictures of the Multipla I'll post them in here for you lot.
