Hi guys

Are all 500c's stop start cars?

Specifically in 1.4 lounge trim, 2009 plate

We are picking ours up this week but doesn't state stop start in particulars....

Thanks

Rob

Nope. 09 plate ones will only have it as an option and i don't know if the 1.4 was discontinued in c form before s&s became standard.

Mine ss works sporadically, not worth even having it. Apparently it's probably because I've got the radio or fan on so if I want it to work I should turn those off.
Never heard anything so stupid in my life!

Well it is defo a 1.4c with 100 bhp ..... Seems to be quite a rare beast really checking auto trader. Lets hope that isn't because theres anything wrong with that engine trim combo!

Yeah it was definitely available with the 1.4 :) Personally it's probably the engine I'd be least pulled towards along with the dismal.

Compared the to £475 to tax the 350 and £215 to tax the KA it still suits us...

I believe the tax is £125 a year on the 1.4?

Ours is a 59 plate so is £125.

No idea why it is cheaper than an 09, but there you go....?!

Interesting. Cheers for that. My mates 1.4 500 on a 2008 is £140

Stilo is £175

All done on emissions, on later ones they made some changes such as different oil used and tyres etc to lower the emissions and as a result the tax band.

You're certainly not missing much not having S/S. Ours works pretty seamlessly on the 500 TwinAir but other than in London where you're stopped for lengthy periods of time I fail to see how the benefits outweigh the likely additional wear on the battery, starter motor and possibly turbo on turbo engines as well.

The 1.4 in the Stilo will be more expensive to tax than the 500 because it's older, when we were less reliant on low CO2 bands to influence our car-buying decisions. Also because the car's heavier, even now it could be more expensive than a 500 1.4 to tax.

I'd imagine the 2009 1.4 500 being less to Tax than a 2008 would be down to Fiat tweaking the engine and/or reducing weight of the car. Similar price reductions have occurred on the Punto over the course of the model facelifts/changes :)

Edit: Just seen you've figured out most of what I've said already - will teach me to read things properly :(
