While im driving my temp gauge never goes up to half way, which i didn't think way anything until last night when i went over Snakes pass to Sheffield and was freezing, as the car is moving the temp never increases and the car cant get warm, soon as you stop it warms up the Rad fan kicks in and the gauge never goes above half way. any ideas or are all Stilos like this?

I changed mine recently (1.6) and it's not hard to do. Four hoses and 3 screws if I remember correctly. Prepare to hurt your hands a bit because it is quite tight in there. Of course you need to change the coolant afterwards.
It took me about 45 minutes the first time (I ve changed it 2 times).

Hint: Be sure to remove the bracket the holds the A/C pipes before you try to remove the thermostat
