Hello everyone, just joined this forum today so please bare with me! Just want to know how long it should take to put a new thermostat on and change the coolant? Can a thermostat be put on without changing the coolant?

if you only change the 'stat, keep the cap on the radiator / expansion tank, you'll only lose a small amount of coolant

Thanks Charlie, I've just had a mobile mechanic round to do the job for me. To fit a new thermostat and put all new coolant in. I've just been charged £65.99 for this (£15 coolant). He arrived at 10am and was gone by 10:20am. Is this really a 20 minute job or have I been done?

IF it's bled properly..you are fine..,
got his contact number.. for when the heater doesn't work

DO keep an eye on the coolant level for the next 10 journeys..
