General Shock absorbers 4x4

Does anyone else find there panda 4x4 seems to need new shock absorbers more often that they would have expected? The only thing I can think of is that I park with the car up on the curb outside my house quite a bit....

My 4x4, who's mileometer showed 123456 a couple of weeks back, finally had the front shocks replaced at about 110,000 miles. Rears were done at 72k, mainly because the rubber mounts failed. I suspect the rears are getting tired again now... So, is that 'more often that you'd expect'?
