Technical Replacing Connect Nav+ completely

I don't really want DVD, just a good MP3 player that remembers what it's doing when you switch off and on again.

Does anyone know whether these dvd players can play MP3 off of DVD-R, or just CD-R. Might be worth investing if they will.

Anyway had a play last night, and pulled out the Connect Nav unit and disconnected it. The functions did not revert to the 'My Car' menu. This means I would lose the ability to set the clock, and adjust the locking options, and also wouldn't get the audio info. on the main dash display.

I shall have to think about this. Maybe I'll grab a fascia adaptor off ebay nd stick an ordinary single din unit in, and then see whether I miss the sat. nav.

Unless you have a standard radio removal tool, the best bet is to use a few bent coat-hangers in the holes to release the catches
