General Punto whistling noise

Right hello everyone newbie here
my daughter picking up a mk1 1996 punto tomorrow only problem is when you put your foot down there a slight whistling noise not looked at the car yet but picking it up tomorrow so any ideas what the noise can be please.

hi m8 what size engine is it ? does it have a aftermarket air filter by any chance cos my old 1.1 did and it whistled when it was cold but it did sound cool

could be cambelt tensioner. common on the mk1's

check for any blowing from exhaust joints i had a very annoying squeel from the down pipe took bloody ages to find

It could just be the air intake pipe that goes into the filter box. My old cinquecento had a small split in this pipe and it made a whistling noise as I accelerated.

Did you ever get the bottom of your issue with the whistling noise? I'm experiencing what sounds like a similar issue with my Punto and am looking for help.

Can you let me know how you got on?
