Technical Press Play on Device - iPhone 13 & Spotify - 2016 500 Lounge

Hi all

Monster in law has just bought a 2016 Fiat 500 Lounge.

I've updated the radio firmware to the latest version as posted on the forum (Uconnect firmware 13.00.80.01).

The phone (iPhone 13 pro max) is now able to make phone calls (although volume is pretty low).


When trying to play music using spotify the car screen say "press play on device" and nothing I do seems to get it working properly.

I did get it to play music for a period yesterday (haven't a clue how I managed it) but when the car was switched off and the on again it refused to work and the "press play on device" instruction reappeared.

Any ideas chaps / chapesses??

Which radio do you have?
7” uconnect with CarPlay?
Uconnect Volume can be down to the phones volume, turn it up.
If Spotify running before you plug yr phone in, does it still ask?
