Technical Power steering on the MK1?

sorry if i've posted in the wrong section, i couldnt find the mk1 section.

i have this green mk1 punto s 55, and it doesnt have power steering and frankly, i hate it. i have no idea about fiats, im a ford guy by nature is there a 1.1 punto mk1 that had PAS? i would love to fit power steering, just wondered if there was anything anyone can suggest ..

I think that some Mk1s had "conventional" (that is, pump type) power steering.

But if the steering is heavy, first port of call is tyre pressures -- should be 30psi all round.

if you need pas on a mk1 55 then you need to go to the gym

its not just the Pump you'll need

You'll need the rack - the pipe work - the pump - the drive Pully (probably Crank/Alt pulley or is it a Cam belt driven pump?)
And a change of suspension, as i believe PS Punto's have a different Setup to the N/PS versions

but the car is light as it is - if you struggle that much, part chop or become pop eye

my steering rack is nackerd on my 55sx and i can still turn it with ease and im onley a skinny 6ft2" person lol
