Has anybody had the problem of the car not starting after it has had a decent run. Recently I have had the embarrassing situation of having to push my coupe off the forecourt of a petrol station and wait for it to cool down, (about 45mins-60mins) when it starts again immediately.
If you have, how did you sort this out?
It would seem to me to be a sensor!
Later this summer I intend to drive to Sicily so need to get this resolved.

Does possibly indicate a Crank Shaft Position Sensor, as they often seem to recover as they cool down.
Years ago I had a customer with a Vauxhall Corsa which repeatedly died at the same junction on her way to work, by the time I would get to her the car would start and run happily. In those days so called specialists would charge £100s to diagnose without success. I took it to the dealer and before I had got home had left a message telling me they had located the fault, Crank Sensor. They fitted the part , cleared the error codes , no more issues, happy customer and for less than the "specialist" had charged to unsuccessfully cure the problem.
A few years ago I had my own Doblo 1.9 JTD which generally was totally reliable inspite of the 220K miles it had done, it cut out at 70mph on a dual carriageway, luckily I was able to coast into a side lane, nothing obvious under the bonnet, turned the key and drove home. Error code showed Crank Sensor, fitted new and no further issues.
