Hi All
I haven't long been the owner of my 2004 Fiat Panda 1.2 Dynamic Dualogic, and I have a query concerning cold starting that I'm hoping you lot might be able to share your knowledge with me. I haven't owned a petrol car for a long time now, and never owned a Fiat, so I'm trying to find out as much as I can about what it's like to own a Panda.
My query is concerning cold starting the Panda, I'd specifically like to know if its normal for the car to rev to around 1200rpm on cold starting and whether the should be a distinct smell of petrol upon starting? Engine revs drop to around 800rpm not long after starting and the petrol smell goes away, so I'm assuming the Panda has to run a bit rich on starting, but I would be grateful if someone could clarify this for me? From what I remember the petrol cars that I have owned in the past rev a bit higher than normal idle on starting, and can run a bit rich during this period too. My Panda has only done 48000 miles, and does have a sellers warranty, so if it does turn out to be something wrong then I'll know to get in contact with the dealer to get it sorted.
You wisdom regarding this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks in advance
