General My storage cover snapped. Therefore, questions.

My car has an extra storage compartment separated from the rest of the storage space with a sturdy cover. Well, not so sturdy, as it turns out, because the other day it just snapped in two. So my question is, maybe anyone knows what is the actual load limit on this thing? I would hate the same happening to the replacement, because they don't come cheap, I tell you.
