MultiChanger problem

I have a Kenwood KDC-C467 6 disk CD Multi Changer - I bought it brand new around ten years ago and it has now been in several cars, most recently in my classic Panda It's flat-mounted under the driver's seat and I've had to resort to thick foam underneath to stop it from jumping when the road surface is a bit rough However, yesterday it stopped playing altogether and now comes up with E-4, which I presume to be an error code It just goes through the process of attempting to load each CD from 1 to 6 but doesn't actually play them - I suspect the last bump has knocked the laser out of alignment

I have the following options:

• take of the cover, clean it and attempt to fix it
• send it off for repair
• accept that it's past its useful life and replace it with a 2nd hand one
• accept that it's past its useful life and replace it with a new one

Any thoughts?
