Technical mk1 slam panel??

just wondering how easy is it to change the slam panel on a mk1 punto?? my mates has had a slight bump and slightly misshaped it.

If it's anything like the Centos, it's a pretty involved job. Lots of spot welds to drill out and at least 2 seperate sections.

How are the "horns" on the crashed one?

easy to change but i only ever changed one the rest could always be bent back to shape so no painting required
i would be more concerned the xmember was back unless its a nice high slide onto the bonnet type bump

the crossmember seems to be fine, the bonnet took most the impact. and kinda squashed the front of the slam panel down. how easy we talking with removal??

2 bolts come out of the xmember and go through the slam and are held on with 13mm nuts
take the lights out
undo the bolts holding the slam to the inner wing
wiggle it out
a new one will slide in if you are careful
really easy job
remember to make sure bonnet shuts properly with the bonnet catch mechanism totally removed as this way if you get it wrong its easier to adjust than when bonnet jammed shut and cable wont pull
you also adjust the bolts on the bonnet to hinges slightly to make sure it sits right to the wings,be careful these bolts break like chocolate and and if they are the internal hex type easily chew up if you use the wrong tool
