Been offered a mk1 GT for very silly money, recently rebuilt engine. Seb chip, FMIC etc etc.

Draw back is the fella's lost all the keys... probably lost them on a drunken night out.

What involved getting it running again? Could I just get a lock and key set from salvage yard? Or does it need the associated ECU to go with it? :chin:

Hi Chris,

It will probably have an immobiliser, so ideally you want a full lock set and an ECU from the breaker's yard.

Alternatively, you can get the full lock set from Fiat (only £45) and install something similar to the McKritch chip (albeit one suitable for the GT) which overrides the immobilser. Not sure if the PowerOnTheRoad SEB chips will do this or not.

it depends which model of gt it is.
if its a gt1 u just need keys as no chip in the key.
gt2/3 are chipped.
if you want to remove immobilizer just fit a gt1 ecu.
