next in the list of catastrophes for buggy this week is he is over heating if standing in traffic.

I retrospectively realised I hadn't heard the engine fan kicking in the last few times I stopped the car. I checked the fuse under the bonnet, that was fine (that was my extent of knowledge on the subject) then I called the breakdown people to have a butchers to confirm what I thought that the motor for the cooling fan seems to have died.
Has anyone had this happen and more importantly know how much to fix? I was just about to set off on holiday so want to get it done asap. Is it something that kwik fit would be able to do?
