Technical Mk 1 Punto 1.6 ?

Just bought some front pads off fleabay for my missus's son's Punto Sporting 1.6.
The company advertised them as fitting (amongst other models)

FIAT PUNTO I 1.6 (176)PETROL 93-97F PADS (ATE)
FIAT PUNTO I 1.6 (176)PETROL 97-99F PADS (ATE - 1WI)

When they arrived they were the wrong ones. Now they are saying that

"they fit the normal puntos, not the sporting models hence it doesnt mention in the list about sporting"

Is it my mistake thinking that all the 1.6 engined Mk1 Puntos are Sporting, or did they make a non-Sporting 1.6?

The Cabrio was a 1.6, but their listing just seems weird anyway. Fiat ditched the 1.6 8v engine in 1997, so why the hell would they have a listing for these calipers for the period 97-99? I would use this nugget of information to claim that their listing was misleading, and it is not your fault that you received the wrong ones.

i have a 1996 punto cabrio, and always have problems getting the pads.last time i went to my parts guy none of the listed ones fitted. my advice is take a sample one with you and match them up. not all 1.6 puntos were sportings they did a 1.6 90elx ect
