Hi! I have a Ducato 280 2.5D (8144.67) from 89 and I removed and restored the vacuum pump (too much rust and bad gasket/seal). While I was at the job I also replaced the sump gasket (it was also leaking a lot)...
So after mounting everything I think there was almost no oil left in the oil pump / engine. I filled the engine with oil and started the engine, but there was no oil pressure. I removed the oil filter after this, just to check, and it was almost dry. I think I have to fill up the oil pump...
I will put some images. The vacuum pump fits on the left side of (1): (and there are 4 plugs, in red)
Plug number 7 seems to have a spring (still didn't remove mine because it is very to read without removing the fuel injector pump):
And this is the real view of the left side of the first image (the vacuum pump fits on that square, and the plugs 7,4,15 are in red):
From my intuition it seems that the oil pump isn't capable of lifting the oil from the sump because it contains no oil at all... I also think the oil pump was in good condition because the oil pressure switch always disconnected after 1 or 2 seconds from the start of the engine.
Question: should I put oil directly on this plugs? If so, would be 12, 7, 4, 13 and the oil pressure switch (back of the engine), by this order, would be a nice option to do it?
