The saga continues........
I obtained another, bench-tested injector pump.
It took a lot of starting that I put down to getting the fuel through.
Once warmed up it starts immediately. When its cold, its a different story.
From cold it starts OK, but, runs for only a second or two, EML comes on and motor dies
... like its starved of fuel.
Some experimenting with cold start reveals that if I can get it to start and up to 2000 rpm for 30 seconds or so, it will keep running.
Today I found the transmission earth strap was just about broken. Only a few strands holding it together. Re-made the connection with solder.
With high hopes, I started the motor. Same result. Deflated or what!
As I had the feeling its fuel related, I bypassed the filter on the return side with clear tubing... BUBBLES!!
It seems the push-on fitting to the filter in the filter to pump line is leaking.
Can I get a new, ready made line with new ends on? From a dealer I suppose?
Or is there some after-market solution?
Cheers,
John
