Hi very interesting response & certainly something I will take on board by fitting a couple of security systems. The strange thing is I looked on a website “how many cars left” The model I bought there were only 50 R/H drive models made , but there are now only 30 + left on the road. so the missing cars I would think are the ones that have been stolen or written off. There is obviously a pattern here for me, In the 80s I bought a new White Escort Turbo ( now worth a small fortune), I owned for it 3 months from new , it was stolen from a Bedford council car park and found a week later in a field written off by joy riders, then my wife had a pearl white Renault 5 Turbo she had it 6 month and it went in for something or other to the garage, we couldn't believe it the car was stolen from the garage & we never saw it again. So Yes there are some real B**t**rds out there when it comes to hot hatches.
Had you not mentioned it The Hobbler I wouldn’t have thought any more about it. It’s very easy to get complacent over the years, until you said it. So many thanks for your advice. Barry.
