Technical key code light after disconnecting the battery

Hello everyone.
My friend has a Punto MK2. He recently disconnected the battery for engine treatment.
Now, when he connected the battery again after the treatment, key code light comes on when turning on the ignition switch.
In addition, when trying to start the engine, clicking sounds coming from the fuse box located in the engine compartment.
Any help is welcome.

Is there a cure for this problem other than disconnecting the cables from the battery and connecting them together for a while, or just drag the car to the garage for reprogram the immobiliser?

Try spare keys
And try a few on and offs with the keys

failing that try a cheap 2nd hand working key ariel that goes around the barrell
