OK, I am after some more power.
I got Mk1 1.2 SPI engine, which is supposed to have 60bhp.
I have already replaced the filter with K&N, replaced spark plugs, new oil and Exhaust.
Thinking along the lines in
1. raising fuel pressure (can I add a fuel pressure regulator ?)
2. remapping the ECU (are there chips that work, with the CAT in place ?)
3. Swapping to MPI to cam. (will this give any more power with SPI retained? Can the SPI ECU be remapped for this Cam?

is your K&N a panner filter?
Yes. Just a swap. It seems to be a bit better. Of course not expecting wonders, but the standard panel filter seems to have small area which could help when replaced with same size K&N.

Lots of tuning parts available, but none as economical as swapping your car for an 85 BHP 1.2 16v Sporting.

Good induction, such as GSR
Free flowing exhaust such as Supersprint
McKritch chip in the ECU

Beyond that, prices start to get silly. Even considering insurance, you may as well get a GT.

Many thanks again, it appears that the chip option is well documented here. I shall do some research. Have not seen info yet, but does this chip pass MOT emissions?
