how do you clean your car?

i try and avoid a sponge but for hard **** i use a sponge, i mainly use the pressure washer and a cloth to wipe down and wax ad stuff.

Yes, sponges= swirlmarks . There is no better way to cause them.

my car is covered in damn swirl marks, bloody sponges, never knew that was the cause!

for me a good clean is as follows

clean interior windows
hoover car
clean down interior plastics
rinse with hose
rinse with pressure washer
wash with turtle wax shampoo stuff
rinse with pressure washer
another wash
rinse again with pressure washer
doust the car in luke warm or tepid water with comfort in
chamois down
polish
wax
back to black trim etc
clean windows outside
have a damn good rest

my cars only 8 months old already got a load of swirl marks in it. thats just cause i took it to the local place and had them clean it used sponges noticed it straight away there were fine swirl marks.

wash with autoglym shampoo

rinse

wash with autoglym shampoo

rinse

dry with autoglym aquablade thing

finish off with shamois cloth

apply autoglym super resin polish

buff polish off with perfect polishing cloth

autoglym bumpercare the rub strips, skirts etc

apply autoglym glass polish

buff glass polish

clean wheels with autoglym wheel cleaner stuff

rinse it off (carefully being as everything else is dry )

stand back and admire

Claying will not remove swirls marks, it removes bonded dirt and fall out.

First off i rinse the car, then i use the 2 bucket system with Meguiars NXT car wash and a lambswool wash mitt, (i have 1 sponge for the bird muck, and another for the steel wheels). Next up i rinse the car until all the suds are gone, then i take the water off with a Meguiars towel (cant remember what its called), and only when its completely dry do i use my tech wax (with the proper Meguiars applicator pad) .

(dOnt use fairy liquid it scratches the paint)

Fairy Liquid also contains salt, and rots all the rubber components such as window seals, door seals etc. The salt will also accelerate rust on any exposed metal

Always that option, depends what your after at the end of the day. A General tidy up or perfection. My problem is i am a perfectionist

quick rinse with gutter water
fairly liquid/swarfegua/dirty water mix
scrub with scouring pad
then dry off with a towel which ive kept on the floor

Please don't wash the turbo like that once you've had it resprayed

Think I might follow the miracledetail 61 stage Bugati Veyron clean on my car - goes something like wash, rinse, wash, rinse, wash, rinse, wash again and again.....ummm maybe not.
