. Then new bulbs, maybe 100/90s. If I do that perhaps I will only put relays on high and leave low alone as 90 is pretty high for dip, but they do work well. But on 2nd thoughts the higher amperage may not be any good for the switch and fuses.
Exactly. I think you DO need the relays for dipped beam, and 90W is a lot more than 55W. With the increased current draw, the voltage drop will increase - Ohm's law.
Especially as most driving is done on dipped beams - though maybe that's different in the South Island
For low beam maybe a dim resister would do the trick!!
Umm, not a good idea
Dipped beam is so called because the beam pattern is cut off at the top, not because it's 'dimmer' than full beam. The cutoff is achieved by the riffles in the lens, due to the different position of the low-beam filament in the bulb. I think riffles is the correct and official term, but it could be 'ripples'!
