Hi everyone,
I hope you can help me with my problem,
A few weeks ago my heater fan suddenly stopped working. I checked the fuses and they were fine, so I took it into the garage to get it fixed.
After about an hour of checking they told me that it was a fault with the loom/resistor and that the following would need to be replaced:
1) A new resistor
2) A new loom
And they also said that they had disconnected the loom from the motor due to safety reasons, the loom was getting too hot and the connector had "melted".
And then they told me it would cost £572 pounds to fix it!!!
So I went home and did some reading on the loom etc. and had a look under my glove box. I could see that they had disconnected two connectors, a grey one and a black one (I have attached pictures).
The grey connector seems to have been damaged (possibly the "melting"), but the black one seems absolutely fine.
The grey connector and the black connector both have two thick wires (black + brown) connected to them.
Does anyone know what these connectors are for? I have looked for replacements but the offerings on ebay (see http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FIAT-GRANDE-PUNTO-HEATER-FAN-MOTOR-RESISTOR-WIRING-HARNESS-LOOM-PLUG-ACTIVE/121282992232?_trksid=p2054897.c100204.m3164&_trkpa) don't seem to match what I have in my car...
I am comfortable with soldering and electrical work, but it is hard to find documents and wiring diagrams related to my problem.
Any help or advice will be much appreciated! Thanks for your time!
