I hae asked similar questions before but still unsure on what action to take, so thought I would post again with a more detailed description of the problem.
Model 1.6 petrol year 2005 Mulipla
My Internal Fan Heater Does Not Blow Any Heat.
1/ The electric fan works (blows cold, at best a tepid warm).
2/ The cold to hot switch on dash works. I can physically also move the cold/hot flap under the dash Or at least I can hear it moving inside.
3/ There is no aircon on this model.
4/ I have flushed the system many times and can feel the heat at the in and out pipes of the matrix under the bonnet. There is a good flow of water through (using hosepipe).
4/ I can also feel the heat on the metal pipes under the dash towards the matrix.
5/ The heat does not seem to getting from the matrix through to the fan motor.
6/ Temp gauge goes to center and remains there. Engine runs well.
7 I cant find a layout of the fusebox here or on Google. There is a photo of one very similar, but at the point where fuse 17 should be there is a relay on mine.
I had originally thought I needed a new matrix but not sure now, I can feel the heat under the dashboard on the metal pipes that enter the matrix, so doubt the matrix is not working. Thought I needed to remove dash. Now don't want to if possible
I don't understand what the heater fan relay does?
Does it affect the heat, or just switches the fan motor on?
So looking for ideas to what this could be? Before I end up taking out the dash for no reason?
