Hi to all, brand new here. I have a 1999 1.9td (1905cc) fiat ducato 10 MWB. I have been trying, with no success, to source a gear lever mechanism. Does anyone have any advice as to where I may find the part, please.

Have you tried going into second gear first and then first gear, it may be a clutch disengagement issue rather than gear linkage possibly. Thanks for replying. It's very difficult to put it in first gear, have to really push it in. Ii have tried double clutching.
Have you tried adjusting the cable . I can't really explain how to actually do this , as i never have . However my van is also down for a new cable itself , but the downside is it's 2.8 , year 2000 . Being honest , your chances of finding a new unit are slim at best , so you may be forced to overhaul what you already have . Sorry i don't mean to be a downer , but it's the truth .Yes tried that, sometimes it's easier sometimes the same. My main issue is sourcing the parts.
Yeah i'm afraid you may have to think outside the box with a vehicle of this age . Parts are at best difficult to source , one of my recent jobs included parts from as far away as Poland and Italy . Ebay is a good place to start , but be aware you're looking for components , not assembled units . Venier gauges , and micrometres may need to be used to source raw parts like shims , and bushes . Bearings are usually not too bad , but you may need a specialist supplier . The way i look at it is , if it has been assembled , it can be taken apart , and so any repair is possible . I recently had to do work on what is an aluminium part which involved welding . Alley is difficult stuff to weld , as it has a low melting point , make even worse by the very fact , i can't weld ! .Yes I think it's looking that way, but I still can't get hold of the repair kits for the gear lever mechanism or the cable. Thanks for your advice.
Yeah , well i'm afraid i wouldn't place too much hope with Italy . I tried to order some specific parts for mine , only a couple of crush seals , on Ebay . The parts cost something like 50 quid in total , including postage . And they were so small they could have been posted , yet they cancelled the order within hours , with the excuse they don't ship to the UK . They lead me to believe this was due to Brexit ! .Thanks again. I have been looking for parts for mine and the Peugeot and the Citroën. I have been in touch with fiat in Italy, and fiat uk, but they have not got back to me, I've been trying to get the correct part numbers, I think it would make sourcing the parts much easier.
