Hi,

Planning to replace my coolant over the weekend.

I've bought a "Wynns Car Radiator Flush" (in additon to new coolant) which I plan to add to the old coolant and drive around for a while before flushing it all out.

Before I add the new coolant I was going to fill it with water (either tap or cheap bottled water) to flush any other cack out but was concerned if any water would be left behind and therefore reducing the 50/50 ratio.

According to a chris fix video he turned on the engine which turned on the water pump to get rid of any left over water.

I was thinking about doing the same but didn't want to break the pump as it could be sucking air in if no water is left.

Would anyone advise against this or have other ways of achieving the same thing?

Cheers.

Drop coolant
Refill with clean water and add cleaner
Run engine for a period of time as stated on cleaner and drop the waste again
Refill with water to flush system again
Drop
Refill with 1 litre of concentrate (to mix with the stuff that get stuck and dont escaoe) and then add the rest of premix

Thats how i tackled mine
Good luck bleeding tho - puntos are complete arses....

Anyone know what type of hose clip this is? Cannot find it listed anywhere:

It seems there is 4 entry points but cannot see a place for a screwdriver head (like on a worm drive clip)

Sorry for potato quality pic, was difficult to get a good pic.

Cheers.

It's a type that is crimped on at factory and has to be cut off and replaced with any type you like, if you need to remove hose.

damn, was hoping to get it sorted today, will have to find a replacement.

Thanks

Go to halfords, screw fix or any other diy store... should be able to pick up some cheap jubilee clips / straps.

Buy decent high quality ones

Ive had loads of cheap clips and they often dont hold up well or dont tighten in the first place....

Get decent and most my issues went away
Curious to try the threaded bar type where it pull it together that way

I just put back 3 factory hose clips on the heater circuit. The jubilee clamps are either coming undone or loosened as the rubber compressed. No more gurgling and hopefully it stays that way.

By the way putting that header tank on is not so easy. Done wrong and there is a big risk if the car overheats it forces all the coolant out of the car and keeps the steam!

If your ordering these types of clips I would suggest getting a few mm above the size of the hose you intend to use it on. I bought 35mm which should be correct for the hose size but it was a pig to get on and I gave up in the end (bought a screw one from halfords).

Also noticed that the clip was not perfectly round and when I had it on the hose, I looked at the hose inlet and the clip had warped the shape.

Hi, managed to lose the black rubber O'Ring which came from the screw on the radiator (where the top pipe goes into the radiator).

Anyone know what dimensions it is so I can order a replacement?

Cheers.
