2021 Fiat Ducato motorhome 2.3 140 automatic.
We had the engine management light come on in France with 2 weeks of warranty left. Fiat dealer said problem was cooling fan associated with ACU, but safe to continue as engine would not overheat. They could not even look at fault for two weeks as too busy. Fiat assistance initially said problem could not be fixed in UK on our return as vehicle would then be out of warranty. 1700 miles later with light still on,restricted engine power, start/stop and power mode selection not working we got to Hutton's Fiat dealer in Weston Super Mare. They diagnosed 400% blocked DPF but cooling fan fault had disappeared. If DPF needed changing would be engine out and three days work. They advised contacting Fiat Assistance. Fiat assistance said ask Huttons to raise a 'Technical Ticket' for help with costs as a goodwill gesture. (Note customer has to ask not the dealer). Cutting long story short, Hutton's carried out an in depth investigation over a week in conjunction with Fiat assistance. They diagnosed and fixed the fault under warranty.
After many phone calls and emails over 3 months and quite a lot of worry and frustration Hutton's and Fiat assistance have come up trumps. So many thanks to them. Had we known there would be all this hassle we might have demanded under the terms of the Fiat warranty to be taken back to the UK to have the fault fixed within the warranty period but then that would have meant a ruined holiday and a travel insurance claim.

Glad to hear you got it sorted. ANY idea has to what theyve actualy fixed and what warrenty they are giving on the replaced parts. Sorry if this sounds negative but its not unknown for Fiat to need a second bite at the apple. ASk whilst its not a forgotten memory.
The dealer initially tried to carry out a forced regeneration which the vehicle would not do.However, following a discussion with Fiat Assistance, the dealer managed to do one. If don't know what Fiat advised but I don't think any parts were used
We had a service carried out following the regen.

Of
I think a means of conning the system to do a regen is to tell the system a new dpf has been fitted this is not a good diy solution and is likely to reduce the lfe of the dpf and may not achieve a good regen. Much better to get an actual chemical clean then run the new dpf procedure
Thank you.That makes sense.
