Good day everyone, I am looking for the ECU wiring diagram for my Fiat punto 188 1.2 16V.
I have a donor engine I want to build and test on the test stand and my wiring loom isn't looking good.
Kindly assist.
Thanks

Maybe check in what condition is the fuel filter. Hmm, if my memory serves me correct it is above front passanger wheel, above the plastic fender which has many many annoying philips screws.
Hello, they put the fuel filter on our Fiats here in the tank as part of the petrol pump. I bought a fuel pressure gauge today and the pressure is the problem, the pressure is 1.5 bar 15psi. I didn’t suspect this because I had replaced the electric fuel pump with a Bosch one from AUTODOC, I kept the plastic shroud and fuel gauge fitted the new pump and assumed too much. I’ve never owned a fuel gauge so again assumed the fuel delivery was correct. It makes sense now, the engine was being starved when under load. I am planning on rebuilding a spare engine for back up, I have started to buy all the parts ready. I have ordered a complete new fuel pump, should be here in a couple of days. Couldn’t find one local to me so got it from internet.

Fitted the new pump, started up straight away and runs again.
This was because I bought a fuel pressure gauge for the first time and tested the pressure at the fuel rail end. This was a good investment.

I have been battling on to correct the misfiring problem on my Punto and with the help of very kind people I’ve narrowed down the issue to petrol tank evaporation purge valve that’s located in the inlet manifold on the engine. It has a two pin electrical connection and a couple of tubes that connect to it. I couldn’t find a new exact replacement so got one off a newer grande punto, they look almost identical. You have to make an electrical adapter from original harness to the new pins and connect the rubber hose from the original sensor to the new one with a hose clamp as fitting is shorter. Anyway after all that it works a treat now so ready for the grid and new Formula1 season.
The pictures below show the replacement valve and the old one taken apart. The fault was the copper springy part attached to the rubber bung had failed so prevented the valve from opening and closing. The adapter cable was made from cutting off the plug socket and soldering the new plug wires to it.
