Der Motor springt beim ersten Start sehr schlecht an, will heißen
der Anlasser dreht schwer durch. Die Anzeichen sind die gleichen
wie bei einer Batterie die nicht mehr ok ist. Aber Batterie ist neu. Auf Rat einiger lieben Mitstreiter habe ich die Flammglühkerze
ausgewechselt, leider ohne Erfolg. Auch die Dieselleitungen
habe ich einer Sichtprüfung auf Dichtigkeit unterzogen. Kein Leck zu sehen !

Komisch ist, nachdem der Motor kurze Zeit gelaufen ist, springt er
normal an.
Wer hat noch einen Rat oder Tip was ich noch machen könnte ?

Ich bin für jeden Rat dankbar.

For the benefit of myself, and others whose German is not good, I have put Laestrella's post through Google Translate. The translation received is quoted below.

"Hello and good afternoon my name is Laestrella.

I have a knaus motorhome with one Ducato 244 / 2.8 Ltr. / 146 PS / from 2006.

I am brand new here and will come with a problem straight away.

The engine starts very poorly when it is started for the first time the starter goes crazy.

The signs are the same like a battery that is no longer ok, ut battery is new.

On the advice of some dear companions, I have the flame glow plug replaced, unfortunately without success.

Even the diesel lines I have visually checked for leaks. No leak to be seen!

Funny thing is, after the engine has been running for a short time, it jumps normal to.

Who has any advice or tip on what else I could do?

I am thankful for any advice."

Maybe a lazy starter motor solenoid, just had my starter motor replaced made a big difference

Laestrella,

If I understand correctly, the starter motor is only cranking the engine slowly. That is not good for easy starting.

Brian snail, has already suggested the starter motor solenoid.

Also you could consider the following.

1. Is connection at battery -ve post sound.

2. Check tightness of battery -ve (earth) connection at starter bolt on clutch housing.

3. With battery -ve connection removed for safety. Remove and carefully inspect battery +ve clamp for breaks. (I have read of this clamp being broken and loose.) Not easy to see.

4. Is the alternator charging your new battery to about 14V at battery terminals.

I am not sure what you mean in following sentence, "Funny thing is, ................."

Do you mean that the starter motor functions OK after the engine has been running? If so, this could be due to a loose connection.

hello Laestrella.

I also have a 2006 2.8 JTD.

Sounds like it runs rough after starting.
But when engine warms up,when it reaches operating temperature it runs fine.

There are many sensors.
I instantly think MAF sensor, Idle air control valve etc.

or

it maybe just an actual mechanical fault.
Head gasket blown?

check compression in each cylinder.

You may have to put an OBDII diags scanner on it and pull some error codes...
