Technical Electric windows

Hi All,

Has anyone had this problem and if so what is the fix!

The wife rang me yesterday and said when she turned the ignition off and took the key out she was able to operate both front electric windows. She got them back up and then when she tried again they would not work (with the key out) when she put the ignition on they worked as normal. It sounds like there is a relay/control unit that has stuck for a moment or so. Anyone had this??? It's an 03 jtd elx.

Mine does the same. From what I can remember, they'll go up with the key out, but not down.

Most cars with electric windows have a built-in delay to allow the slow-witted and forgetful to close the windows when they've removed the key.

Actually, it was my wife who pointed out to me that this was the case - two cars ago!

If she hadn't, slow-witted and forgetful me probably still wouldn't be aware of it!
