Technical Electical Noise when opening drivers door?

Hi,

I have a (automatic) 1.4 Dynamic Sport (07 plate.)

When i open the drivers side door there is a whirring electical noise that lasts for a few seconds. Is that normal?

(This is as soon as i open the drivers door...and before i put the key in the ignition)

Not sure how the Grande works but I guess it could be the fuel pump priming. Certainly in older cars you'd hear this noise when turning the key to the first position, perhaps in an effort to save 0.0001secs Fiat decided this could be done when the door is opened instead, on the assumption that the car is about to be started

It is the pump warming up... Got the same on punto evo

It is the Dualogic (Auto gearbox) pump priming up... Got the same on punto evo

(Just to clarify- nothing to do with the fuel pump).
