Now I know there are a number of historic threads on this but I have not found the answers I am looking for, so here goes.

I have a Ducato X250 3.0 180 Multijet, throwing up fault code P2111.

Now I have checked the operation of the throttle actuator and it appears to move as expected. I have had it off, cleaned it, its all free to move. This is the version that appears sealed, not the older style that suffers from water ingress and corrosion.

Now my understanding is that the throttle actuator is open loop control, i.e it gets a signal to actuate but there is no feedback on its position. So my question is, how does it know it is stuck? What parameter is being measured that would cause the P2111 fault to trigger?

I have checked what i can on the wiring loom, the connectors etc to no avail. I have now ordered a replacement actuator from Ebay to see if that solves it.
