General Ducato Gearbox

[?]2001 Fiat Ducato 2.8 JTD on 3.4 ton motorhome.

Gearbox chatters in 3rd gear. Vehicle out of warranty on October 3rd hence urgent need for info? Anyone help?

I suggest that you check your engine mounts before any other investigation as they may be damaged or loose

Hi. Read the MMM article March 2007 page 234 which indicates a common gearbox problem but with 5th gear.I have had to have my gearbox rebuilt following a "chatter" mostly on the overrun. My vehicle has the 2.8 JTD engine 2002 with 18000 miles on the clock. Hope that helps

Hiya!

I recently had gear box problem! The gear selector had seased and would not select gears easaly! might be that!
and as for mounts... do check they come loose? rubber weekens as oil penitrates it.
and finally have you checked the oil level in the box?
