Technical Clunky sound from gearbox/clutch (Bravo, 2010)

Well I guess the possibilities for correcting this are limited?? I don't think that Fiat will reinstall a new and more fuel economic gearbox again :/

If any one of you have a suggestion what I can do to improve my fuel economy with this current "tight" gearbox, then feel free to comment.

By 'clunk' do you mean a sort of very quick crunching noise like if you grind your gears?

My fiat doblo 1.9 diesel multijet 2007 is making a very quick crunching noise from the gear box area but only when accelerating high from a stand still in 1st and then again into 2nd. If I pull off gently it can not be heard. Can you please shed some light on what could be causing this please.
