General cleaning electrical terminals

Dont know if the original one i typed went through... Whats best to clean electrical connections?? the two electrical blocks that fit onto the ecu? used vikal lime scale remover on other connectors, but not sure about doing it to the ecu connecting blocks.. Engine management light on, had the fault codes checked, all working fine, so thinking it might be a poor connection or wire...

Which version is your vehicle, x230, x244, x250, or x290?

Particularly if x250 or x290, have you checked the engine block earth strap?
These earth straps have a reputation for causing spurious alarms.

Hi Tom555

To answer your direct question, I recommend Servisol Super 10 Switch Cleaner which is an aerosol + straw type product. It is far superior to WD40 etc which leave an unwanted sticky deposit. After applying a little switch cleaner, mate and unmate the connectors being treated a few times, then wait for the solvent to evaporate before final assembly.
