Technical Car wont start

Hi everyone can I have some advice please. My sons Panda active 1.1 2005 will not start or turn over. The abs light and the red circle light immeadiatly next to come on on the dash but the car will not turn over.

You can bump start the car and it drives fine (the abs light and the red circle light warning lights sometimes come on).

I have charged the battery but no luck.

Does anyone have any thoughts please?

1. Does it turn over when using jump leads from another car? IF so the battery sounds poor

2. It sounds like the starter motor if it's not turning over - which could simply be that the power cable to the starter has fallen away (it's a seriously fat wire) or the motor has gone.

do the ignition lights dim when you turn the key?

if they don't dim it a non-connection,
if they do dim it's likely to be poor battery / dead starter,
