Technical Battery Power? New One?

Okay,

Went to go to uni today in my 2007 GP 1.2

Went to start it and, it didn't start!, Got a stance noise from under the bonnet.... anyway, this is the stock fiat battery.

Got a jump start from a neighbour, and drove it around a 20 Mile trip. Got home to find that if i put my headlights on, the car stalled.

Time for a new battery?

Also... may be good to mention about the needles are flickering? if this helps?

Not sure if this helps or not but I was having problems in October/Novemberwith my car starting (07 grande punto 1.2 active). It was making a grinding noise and took a couple of trys to start it. This mainly happened when it was cold. The mileage also flashed when it was cold and a bulb on the dashboard had dulled. I was told that the original battery was a low power and that in newer punto models Fiat had replaced this with a slightly more powerful battery.

The new battery solved the problem and incidentally also cured the flat spot I experienced in 1st gear. Not sure if that was the change in battery or just disconnecting the power which reset something.
