Technical Anyone know what this is called please?

Hi there, I have a sick Ducato 244 2004. It is a 2.0l petrol version and the throttle will not behave. erratic at low revs.
I believe it to be a sensor. I removed the one in the picture and it appears to be worn. I hazard a guess that it regulates the fuel.
Am I right?

I believe it's usually called an Idle Air Control Valve but some manufacturer's refer to it as an "idle air control valve stepper motor" or just "stepper motor" for short.
