Styling Air Vent Trim

Hi all,
I am trying to source a vary small bit of silver trim which is an insert into the vent adjuster. It is a very small piece of cosmetic trim, but it catches the eye ever time get in the car.
Fiat dealership are saying that I will have to buy the whole air vent unit which for the sake of such a small piece of trim is very annoying.
I have attached a photo of the air vent and I hope through my description, the silver piece I am looking for is visible.

I was going to suggest looking for a replacement on ebay rather than from a dealer, then I discovered where you found the image you have posted, so you have obviously covered that option. Have you considered using chrome tape? It comes in a variety of widths.

Or pull the other off and they'll match must be loads out there in scrapped cars that you can swap over ?
