Hello all.
I bought myself a cheap parking sensor kit with rear view camera for my scudo.

But i need some advice. May be someone else has done this job before.
First a litte explanation.

I have 4 sensors that will be fitted in the rear bumper.
A central box mounted nearby the sensorwires.
A speaker (for beeping when reversing)
A 5 inch TFT monitor on the dashboard.

So a few questions:

1) What is the best place for the speaker ?
2) What is the most easiest way to route the AV cable from the box at the back to the front of the car ?
3) Where to tap the 12v for the rear camera ? Can i use the rear light for that ?
Or is it better to route a 12v cable directly from the battery to the rear ?

Mounting the parts is not so difficult, but routing the cables/dismounting several plastic trim panels and such takes up the most time.:(

Pretty sure a basic guide was in a doblo thread. Charlie

Well, I've learned I have to use the reverse light to power the central hostbox and camera. The speaker and host box have to be mounted near the rear bumper.

The only thing i have to check is which side of the car I have to use to route the AV video cable from the back to the dash.
It seems logical to use the left side, since there's a sliding door on the right.
That should be a nice job for this sunday. Dry and sunny, perfect for this.

Cheers..

Job almost done. camera and host box get their voltage from orange wire (reverse light).
Drilled 22mm holes (4x) for sensor. just have to pick a place for the camera.
i have an rectangular outside camera. So i must mount it either above or below bumper.

Below bumper it's a bit low, but above bumper it's quite vulnerable.
Routing the av cable was indeed the most work.
I just hope the tow bar isn't influing the sensors too much..
Hook up the 5 inch tft monitor on the dasboard, and i can test it.
driving reverese into my garage wall :slayer:
.
I haven't found the thread on the doblo part of this forum. Their are 147 pages. bit difficult to search.

Don't worry about it. I finished installing the parking sensors and camera this morning.
It works. At least you'll learn your vehicle inside and out by doing these jobs yourself.
