I've come across an attactive deal on a 2.0 bravo, 2009.

It has had a dpf removal/remap- i dont really know a great deal about cars/engines so....

What are the risks with this? Are the issues i could run in to? Is it a modification that i need to let my insurance provider know about?

My daily commute could be rising from 6 miles round trip to 40-50 hence considering diesels more seriously now

Your risk with it is down with the M.o.t tester
and the new rules that are coming in,

Ok, so after emailing the seller a bit more, he said he doesn't have the corresponding dpf light on the dashboard, so is it safe to assume that this didn't have one in the first place? I thought they were only introduced from 2010 anyway? this is an 09 plate

The 2.0 Multijet (165) has a DPF as standard. You could have complications with MOT'ing the car very soon.

If it was me I would avoid.

DPF's have been a requirement since 2009 (I think the EU regulations came about around 2008) however you will still find them on some cars pre 2009 - as far as I am aware.
