Hi there,

I recently noticed a very annoying issue with my Bravo’s air vents. I can’t turn them off. Even if it’s set to 0 (manual a/c) it keeps blowing air. It is really annoying, because it won’t stop, not even in 1,2 or 3 position. If I rotate it to 4, it just blows harder, like it’s supposed to. So essentially I can’t use 80% of my a/c knob lol
Also, I might add, I recently noticed on a longer trip that the faster I go, the faster and harder it blows air??? It might just be me being paranoid or something, but I swear to god when I start the car up and drive in the city it’s not blowing any air. I need to test this theory tho.
Any and all help is much appreciated, thank you.

This is normal function. If you have active air conditioned the ventilation is on even the ventilation knob is set on 0 position. If you stop air conditioned then ventilation stop on 0 position and will be max on 4 position.

But I don’t have the air condition turned on, the vents are only blowing the air like they should - if the know was to set on anything but 0. But in my case even with a/c off and the knob turned to 0, the vents are still blowing

Go to electrician to check the wires and J034 relay.

If you turn the air direction to windscreen only you won't notice it.
Or turn on air recirculation and see if that stops air flow - if it does then the air flow is just the normal air flow into car from vehicle moving through the air and nothing to do with the vent fan.

Is having air conning into your car stopping it getting stale really a problem ?

Normally with auto aircon it will blow all the time.

You set the temperature as required and put the system on auto. Close the facia vents if you dont want your face to be blown on.When you start the car the aircon will not work at all until the car has got to operating normal temperature then it will turn on. It is possible you have a thermostat problem and that the car thinks its hot when it is not. Auto aircon systems have a thermostat built in. To stop the fans blowing on a manual aircon car you must turn the aircon off. This is not advised as the refrigerant contains lubricant and this is required to circulate to keep the system seals etc healthy. Never run for extebnded periods with the aircon off or it will be damaged and may require expensive repairs to teh compressor. (Ispeak from experience - mothers car parked up for 3 months needed a new one..... from Malaysia!)

There are people who have had broken actuator flaps and rods. Somewhere on here there is the name of someone who can repair these.

I would initially ask an aircon specialist to look and advise. I have found a local man who is helpful and very good. Im sure there must be one near you. My last call on him only cost £40 and he made my system work.
