Is it possible to fiat punto 16v cylinder head onto a punto gt block?

I believe the 1,242cc engines and the 1.4s share the same iron block. (But different bore/stroke.) However, since the heads are completely different you can't just swap in a 16v head and use the manifolds or electrics. You'd need a 16v wiring loom and ECU. If you wanted the 16v turbo'd that would take a lot of work, either a turbo kit or adapt the GT's system to suit. You'd also need to CC the cylinders and the head and check compression ratios.

But not a simple straight swap.

If you are talking about the fire 16v head, no they don't interchange.

If you want to go down the 16vt route:

1 get a 1.4 16v t-jet engine and work from there or
2 use a 1.6 16v head as the 1581cc and 1372cc sohc blocks are the same just with different internals and the 1581 16v is the same engine with a 16v head.

Both require alot of work, time and money to get right tho....

Why not make a 1.6 GT??!!
