Technical 1.4 8V Timing belt change?

I've looked in the service book and fiat recomend the timing belt to be changed every 4 years but when i first got my car from the garage they said at about 77k miles, so as ive only covered 41k on the clock which do i go by? the car is 4 years old this year and i cant seem to find a thread that helps.

any help would be great

you go by what ever comes first

4 years if heavy use
5 years if not

That's what the service book says. My car is 4 years old but only has 26k, I'm waiting another year, but that's my personal choice (which may or may not end in disaster)

ahh thanks guys, looks like it'll be another year then plenty of time to save the pennies

if it was my car i'd be doing it now, not running on luck

I popped in to my local fiat garage and they told me that i should be looking at next year due to my low mileage, they checked it at its last service and the guy said that its in good health so im not in any rush at this moment in time.
