Hi guys,

Going to do another oil change today or maybe tomorrow.

What oil do you recommend?
Last time round i filled it with millers semi synthetic 10/40 and also used Wynn's engine flush prior to draining old oil.

Its been 5k since change then had sump replaced and garage put new oil in and new filter on but im unsure what oil they used.

Since sump change, i have done another 7 - 8k miles and topped up 1ltr of cheap car lube 10/40 semi synthetic (topped up about 4 times in 8 months and just finished the 1ltr bottle)

Im thinking its about time i changed oil again, it doesnt burn off much (1ltr in 8 months is good going in my eyes)

What do you all recommend?
Shall i flush again with Wynns and what oil? 10/40? Semi or full synthetic?

Engine is at 93k now, is a little noisy and thinking maybe due to **** oil (each time i service it, it seems much quieter for a few months).

I've always put 5w30 semi synthetic in mine, it's a bit thinner than 10w40 so gets to the cylinder head quicker and lubricates all the hydraulic tappets faster from cold too. Prevents that diesel sounding tappet noise. You might end up burning some though if your engine is worn.

Still havent got round to doing it yet.

I was thinking of going for 5/30... just unsure if it would be better to use fully synthetic or semi.

Also, my engine rearley burns off oil, i put it down to when i gave the engine a good racing over a couple of days... i usually drive like a grandad / taxi driver.
