Ok so this is hard to explain in a sense but recently my stilo has give a symptom. When I accelerate in first and some times upto third gear my fuel gauge drops to empty then back again and my speedo flickers erractic. Whilst this happens it will show asr failure at times. Now I no from what ive read in past threads a worn battery can cause problems could this be the case as I dont no when it was replaced last all coils have been changed recently as two were damaged. I will be changing the plugs when I get payed to elimate them any help or answers are appriciated regards andy

To add to list the drivers light adjuster started to go haywire and rear brakelight flashed up on my dash a few times when the brake isnt being pressed if anyone can shed light on this would be helpfull

Battery on the way out would be my first suspect...

Yep I'd say it's a battery or an earth problem.


Battery is an easy suspect right now being an unknown quantity and given that cold weather is well known for being a killer of weak batteries and the weather has just turned over the last couple of days it certainly adds up!

Ok so update to this swapped the plugs today and looks like they were not done in a long time or ever tbh the old ones were stamped fiat in blue writing around the ceramic section and the problem has gone all dials working fine and all power is back when accerating and no lights on the dash tbh from what has been changed by me so far maintenance wise to the stilo it looks like another case of previous owner not looking after it properly

I have the same problem atm will try new plugs soon need to replace a coil spring first
